Seattle Squadron Aircrews Photograph Wildfire Damage
Seattle Squadron aircrews flew over parts of the Methow River valley area, photographing damaged and destroyed structures as part of an effort to document the extent of the damage from the Carlton complex wildfire. The air was hot and turbulent, the valley was narrow and the sortie totaled more than 5 hours in the air. Nonetheless, numerous high quality photos documenting specific damage were sent to FEMA to support their analysis.
